About Nurse Pay

The calculators

Every calculator on this site is free, with no account and no email. They run entirely in your browser. They use the same calculation method as the Nurse Pay iPhone app — ported line by line and checked against the app's own test cases — so the website and the app give the same answer for the same inputs.

How we calculate

• Money is calculated in exact decimal arithmetic, never floating-point approximations.
• Each line of a breakdown is rounded to the cent once, and the total is the sum of those lines, so it always adds up.
• We only calculate what we can calculate honestly. There's no take-home-pay calculator, because taxes depend on details we don't ask for.

The method is written out in how to calculate nurse pay. If you find a result that doesn't match how your employer pays, please tell us.

What Nurse Pay is not

Nurse Pay provides estimates from the compensation information and rules you enter. It is not payroll, legal or tax advice. Your employer's policies, your contract or collective bargaining agreement, and applicable law determine what you are actually paid.
